BLANCO, GUANTERO, ACOSTA, VILLAR TOPS SCIENTIFIC SURVEY
ECOLINK Philippines, one of the leading developmental NGO in the Southern Philippines, has released the results of the first of the monthly scientific survey it conducted relating to the upcoming 2010 elections.
With a total respondents of 400 registered voters and a +/- 2 margin of error, Manny Villar tops among the presidential bets with a sweeping 24% followed by Noynoy Aquino with 14 % and Gibo Teodoro with 5%. At least 8% have chosen among the other presidential hopefuls. Further, 51% among the respondents are undecided yet.
In the Oroquieta City mayoralty race, Lemuel Acosta gets 35% of the voters while Jason Almonte receives 17%. This further shows that 48% of the voters are undecided yet.
For the Vice Mayor’s position, businessman Harry Guantero leads others by 18% while City Councilor Anthony Centino and Engr. Andit Berenguel tied with a very close 14%. This also means 54% of the voters are undecided yet.
For the City councilors, majority of the Nacionalista party candidates made it to the top 10 bets. Former City councilor Atty. Lel Blanco tops the survey with 39% followed by the Pipo Daminar, son of incumbent City Councilor Zaldy Daminar, with 37%. Board Member Atty. Franklin Omandam ranks third with 33% followed by Anti-corruption champion Paul Pastrano Gangoso with 32%. Lower Loboc Punong Barangay Jose Tan ranks 5th with 26% followed by Mobod Punong Barangay Donna Iyog with 23%. Former City Councilor Paul Mabatid ranks 7th with 23% followed by City Councilor Jun Blasco and Dr. Art Enanoria tied at 8th rank raking in 21%. MOELCI Executive Winston Catane ranks 10th with 20%.
Punong Barangay of Villaflor Vincent Guantero rank 11th with 19% tied to Talic Punong Barangay Boy Malolot. ABC President Nilo Bation, City Councilor Leocadio Digal, Ruvy Alam, Joel Medado, Joel Fernandez shared the lower ranks with almost insignificant differences.
It must be noted that there are clear figures of undecided voters especially for the Presidential, Vice- mayoral and Mayoral seats. “This is where moeny, machinery and campaign strategies can play through..” the survey statement says.
“Assuming that the intensity of their popularity and public acceptance will be maintained, those in the top 5 ranks among the city councilors will hardly change for more than 2 ranks higher or lower.
Those who did not make it to the top 10 should double their campaign pace, otherwise, they will hardly move at all.”

Di gyod molambo ang pilipinas kon ingon ani ang basihan nato sa pagpili sa presidente. Botaran nato ang kandidato tungod kay makaayo sa oroquieta? Hinakog kini nga ideya. National issues ang atong basihan pagpili sa mga national candidates.Kon local interest ang atong basihan,buot ipasabot nga bahalag korap ang kandidato basta makaayo lang sa atong syudad. Sayop! Mao kanay hinungdan nga nagpadayon si GMA sa iyang gahom tungod kay mobotar man tag Lakas-Kampi candidates basta lang mahatagag materyal nga kaayohan atong syudad. Kon modaog si Villar maingon nato maayo ang dagan sa Oroquieta kon si Acosta ang modaog sa mayor, Clarete sa Congressman ug Paylaga sa Governador kay ila man ang presidente. Kon si Noynoy ang modaog maingon nato nga dili lisod nila sa ilang grupo kay tua man si Ocampos usab sa LP nga ilang gipadagan aron kon bisan asa ni Aquino o Villar naa silay sakop sa ilang kagrupo nga tua sa pikas. Dili behind ang Misamis Occidental. Kon ang lakas candidate sa lokal inyong pilion wa ni silay mga connection kay di mahitabo nga si Gibo maoy modaog.
