Ombudsman sets aside case vs Acosta;” It’s God’s will”- Lemuel says
Contrary to claims of Mayor Jorge Almonte, the Office of the Ombudsman Mindanao have rightly set aside the case filed before the office against former Vice Mayor Lemuel Meyrick Acosta.
The case is good as dead. with a reply from no less than Deputy Ombudsman Hon. Humphrey Monteroso, the Office of the Ombudsman cites that the case is still pending preliminary investigation.
With so many cases filed before the office, some more important and high-profile, there is absolutely no way that the case can push through, this according to laymen’s analysis.
“I feel vindicated”, Lemuel Acosta says.. “ They have nothing more than a dead ghost story to tell the people. It is God’s will to give them a dose of their own medicine. The issue they set against me is nothing but a dead one. What is clear is that I have no criminal liabilities.” he added. “ Contrary to their words, they have been found undertaking even the cheapest forms of corruption- payroll padding, overnight deals, violations of procurement laws, etc. What we have here is but a bunch of corrupt officials led by Mayor Almonte accusing us of possible corruption.”
Several cases of corruption issues have been prepared by some organizations to be filed at the Office of the Ombudsman against Mayor Jorge Almonte and his minions.
Very soon, Almonte will face both criminal and administrative charges over several cases of corrupt practices these organizations have gathered. Meanwhile, Carlito Decena a known alter-ego of Almonte, have been questioned for several weeks already on the air over cases of payroll padding involving his son and many other ghost employees.
